Sustainable Development,
Global Change and Ecosystems
The activities
carried out within ‘Sustainable
development, Global change and
ecosystems’ intend to strengthen the
S&T capacities needed for Europe to
be able to implement a sustainable
development plan by integrating its
environmental, economic and social
objectives with particular emphasis
on energy, transport and sustainable
management of marine and land
resources. The budget allocated to
this Thematic Priority for the
duration of FP6 is EUR 2120 million.

including soil-related aspects
-
Understanding
and protection of marine and
terrestrial biodiversity and genetic
resources, sustainable management of
the impact of human activities on
ecosystems

in particular for the integrated
management of coastal zones and
integrated concepts for the
multipurpose utilization of
agricultural and forestry resources
-
Operational
forecasting and modelling, in
particular of climate change
-
